Become a Docent for Tohono Chul Park!

Do you have what it takes to become one of Tohono Chul Park's amazing urban desert interpreters? Applications now being accepted for the 2008 program.

If you are interested in interpreting the Sonoran Desert for Park visitors and/or school children, then becoming a Docent may be the best way for you to get involved with Tohono Chul Park. "Docents" are responsible for giving tours of the Park for visitors and school classes, visiting schools to teach about the Sonoran Desert, speaking to community groups about the Park and its purpose and creating educational programs for the community.

Docents are required to take an 18-week training course. The next class begins in October 2007. Classes meet Wednesdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This course is an in-depth study of the natural and cultural history of the Sonoran Desert. To read more about the course and the Docent program, download the Docent brochure.

If you need more information about the Docent program at Tohono Chul Park, please email Tom McDonald or call us at (520) 742-6455 x 241.
